Computation excels at automating drudgery. If you need to rename a bunch of files, concatenate a bunch of PDFs, transcode a bunch of videos, a script is often the most effective way to do that.
LLMs, or “AI Agents” can be seen as particularly useful as extensions of this kind of automation. They can allow new kinds of information to be processed, and sometimes to allow a looser form of reasoning to better respond to edge cases, or dynamic situations.
